On February 2, 2026, a delegation led by Yamandú Orsi, President of of Uruguay, visited Mutianyu Great Wall. Dong Li, Party Secretary and Chairman of Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall Tourism Service Co., Ltd., accompanied the visit and presented the delegation with a certificate of ascent and a Mutianyu Great Wall Cloisonné Platter, with both sides expressing sincere wishes.

President Yamandú Orsi and his entourage took a closed cable car to the Great Wall. During the visit, Dong Li introduced the long history and cultural connotations of the Great Wall to the delegation, and provided a detailed explanation of the defense system and architectural features of Mutianyu Great Wall.
