- ICH Celebrates the New Year: Strong Folk Atmosphere -

How can the New Year be without authentic folk customs? At the Mutianyu Service Area Square, wonderful performances of national-level ICH programs will be staged in turns, including Erkui Wrestling, Colored Ribbon Dragon Dance, Cart Performance, "Running Little Donkey" and more. The sound of drums and cheers fills the air, and the charm of traditional folk customs blooms to the fullest, allowing you to immerse yourself in the New Year flavor of old Beijing and revisit the nostalgic New Year memories!

Erkui Wrestling (also known as Ergui Wrestling) is a distinctive folk art originating from Labagoumen Manchu Township in Huairou. Its origin can be traced back to the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty. There are two classic legends about its origin: one says that people commemorated Emperor Kangxi selecting young bodyguards to practice wrestling, evolving the wrestling scene into a performance form; the other is that during the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty, the Manchu warrior brothers Dagui and Ergui were both top wrestlers. The younger brother Ergui had a sudden idea to depict wrestling moves by playing two roles alone with props, which has been passed down as an art form. This ICH was included in the first batch of Beijing-level ICH lists in 2007, and in 2008, the first female inheritor broke the tradition of "passing on to males only", and it has been inherited to this day.

"Running Little Donkey" in Liulimiao Town originated from the local people's production and daily life. Initially, it was people imitating the daily scenes of herding and riding donkeys in the mountains. Local villagers integrated this life element into folk activities such as Yangko and Shehuo (festival entertainment), creating the humorous and vivid "Running Little Donkey". After generations of inheritance, it has not only become a regular program in activities such as the Spring Festival and "Lianqiao Blessing Feast" (a traditional folk activity), but also been included in the intangible cultural heritage, becoming a window to show local cultural inheritance and community cohesion.
- Spring Festival Market: Feast for the Taste Buds -
