Start at the North Entrance Gate → Trek up the Northern Wall Pathway to the No. 10 Watchtower → Explore until you reach the No. 14 Watchtower → Snap a pic at the Mutianyu AAAAA Signboard and the Great Wall Hero Monument on the Cable Car Platform → Head to the No. 20 Watchtower , the highest accessible point of the Great Wall, where you can conquer the Hero's Platform and soak in a panoramic view of Mutianyu Great Wall → Return to the No. 14 Watchtower and take the cable car down.
2. Head of State Reception Route
Enter through the North Ticket Gate of the scenic area → Take the cable car directly to the No.14 Watchtower Viewing Platform, a favorite spot for heads of state ( snap a photo at the Hero Monument and admire the red leaves on the inner side of the Great Wall ) → Visit the No.15 Watchtower → Return to No.14 Watchtower Platform to take the cable car back down. This route is ideal for those preferring a lighter workout.
