2025-07-17

In 2025, marking the 76th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Czech Republic, the "Czech Robert Expedition's Vintage Car Self-driving Tour in China" team entered China via Port of Horgos to embark on a 10-day exciting self-driving journey. The tour aims to deepen China-Czech cultural exchanges, consolidate friendly cooperation between the two countries, and enhance friendship between their peoples.

On July 15, the team kicked off their trip to Huairou, Beijing, with the final stop at Mutianyu Great Wall. A launch ceremony was held the same day at the "Beijing Vintage Car Museum" in Huairou District. Guo Min, Deputy General Manager of Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall Tourism Service Co., Ltd., participated in the ceremony, adding brilliance to this journey that combines cultural exchange and adventure.

Mutianyu Great Wall, renowned globally as an "international protocol reception venue" and "international reception hall," serves as a vital window for China to showcase its historical and cultural charm and modern development vitality to the world. This vintage car self-driving tour, spanning 11 countries with a total distance of 16,000 kilometers, sees mobile industrial civilization engage in dialogue with the accumulated Oriental epic. It is not only a vivid footnote to the 76-year friendship between the two countries but also, through the warmth of cultural mutual learning, paves a new path for civilizational connection in China-Czech relations in the new era. The millennium-old Great Wall thus becomes an eternal landmark witnessing international friendship, injecting strong new impetus into China's inbound tourism market and writing a vivid chapter in Chinese-foreign tourism interactions.

As the vintage cars, permeated with the fragrance of time, slowly pulled up at the foot of Mutianyu Great Wall, they immediately became the focus, drawing crowds of tourists and local residents who stopped to admire them. The streamlined curves of the retro car bodies complement the majestic contours of the Great Wall, while the texture of steel and stone creates a wonderful resonance, outlining a stunning picture of Eastern and Western cultural integration and capturing a cross-temporal moment of civilizational dialogue.

Subsequently, members of the expedition climbed the steps with awe and excitement, personally experiencing the magnificent momentum and profound history of the Great Wall. Each step they took was an exploration of Chinese history and culture, as well as a cherishing and continuation of China-Czech friendship. Under the witness of the Great Wall, the psychological distance between the peoples of the two countries was further shortened.

In recent years, Mutianyu Great Wall has adopted a series of facilitation measures for foreign visitors, building a full-process service system for foreign guests in line with international standards. These measures cover pre-tour services such as convenient booking, instant download of guides, improved transportation routes, and a full-scenario payment system; on-site services including customized services, historical exploration, elderly-friendly services, barrier-free access, and an international commercial street; and post-tour services like sharing and interaction, allowing visitors to take home cultural and creative products to pass on happiness.

The expedition's choice of this destination is both an in-depth exploration of Chinese history and culture and an example of the diversified development of the inbound tourism market. As China's tourism facilities improve and its cultural soft power grows, more international events will be held here, enabling global tourists to appreciate China's beauty.

The turning of wheels has built a bridge for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship among peoples of all nations while bringing new development opportunities to China's inbound tourism. In the future, Mutianyu Great Wall will unswervingly aim to become a world-class tourist resort, attracting more international visitors to experience the charm of Chinese culture.
