On the morning of June 25, Marko Primorac, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Croatia, and his wife visited Mutianyu Great Wall. Ma Zhanli, Chairman of the Trade Union of Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall Tourism Service Co., Ltd., accompanied the tour.

Marko Primorac, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Croatia, and his wife arrived at the Great Wall by enclosed cable car. During the tour, while listening to the guide's explanations, they inquired about the long history and culture of the Chinese Great Wall, as well as the defensive facilities and architectural features of Mutianyu Great Wall. They couldn't help but repeatedly praise the great wisdom of ancient Chinese people.

Exchanges and Cooperation in Economic, Trade, Scientific, and Cultural Fields

The Chinese and Croatian governments have established mechanisms such as the Economic Joint Commission and the Science and Technology Cooperation Committee, and have signed multiple cooperation documents including a memorandum of understanding on jointly building the "Belt and Road Initiative". Exchanges in various fields have been continuously deepened. The bilateral trade volume in 2024 was 2.96 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 16.8%, among which China's export volume was 2.69 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 12.4%, and import volume was 270 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 92.8%. The Pelješac Bridge in Croatia, constructed by Chinese enterprises, was opened to traffic in July 2022.

This year, the Mutianyu Great Wall Scenic Area has received 24 international political dignitaries. With the successful completion of major foreign affairs reception tasks in recent years, it has not only presented the beautiful scenery of Mutianyu Great Wall to the world, but also influenced every visiting friend from around the globe with its profound historical culture, witnessing exchanges and communication between China and the world, and demonstrating the charm of excellent Chinese traditional culture.
