On May 21, 2025, Sergio Carlos Gutiérrez Luna, Speaker of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, his spouse and their entourge toured the Mutianyu Great Wall, accompanied by Guo Min, Deputy General Manager of Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall Tourism Service Co., Ltd.
The delegation arrived at the Great Wall via enclosed cable car. During the tour, they listened to guided narratives and inquired about the profound history and culture of the Chinese Great Wall, as well as the defensive infrastructure and architectural characteristics of Mutianyu. Speaker Gutiérrez expressed his intention to bring his children to Mutianyu in the future to experience its ancient civilization.

Mexico is a designated overseas tourist destination for Chinese citizens. Mexican statistics show 150,000 Chinese travelers visited Mexico in 2023. Two direct passenger air routes connect the nations: Shenzhen-Mexico City (operated by China Southern Airlines) and Beijing-Tijuana-Mexico City (operated by Hainan Airlines).
International Dignitaries Reception
The Mutianyu Great Wall has hosted 23 international dignitaries this year. As a millennium-old World Cultural Heritage site, the Great Wall embodies the philosophy of peace and development and bears witness to Sino-Mexican friendship. Moving forward, China and Mexico will jointly uphold the proud tradition of independence, safeguard the right to development and revitalization, defend international fairness and justice, and practice genuine multilateralism—with the Great Wall as their enduring witness.
