Happy Lantern Festival!

2025-02-12

The Lantern Festival, also known as Yuan Xiao Jie, is celebrated on the 15th day of the first lunar month. It marks the end of the Chinese New Year celebrations and is a time for family reunions and joy. During the festival, families gather to enjoy the full moon, light colorful lanterns, and solve lantern riddles. These riddles are written on lanterns and are a fun way to celebrate.

Eating tangyuan, a traditional dessert made of glutinous rice with sweet fillings, is also an important custom. It symbolizes family togetherness and reunion. In many places, there are also performances like dragon and lion dances, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The Lantern Festival is a beautiful way to end the Chinese New Year celebrations, bringing light and warmth to the cold winter nights
