In the significant year of 2024, marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, and also designated as the "Year of Sino-French Cultural Tourism," Éric Alauzet, Chairman of the French-Chinese Friendship Group, visited the Mutianyu Great Wall on December 1, 2024.
The chairman and his delegation first arrived at the elegant and serene Yisonglou Restaurant. On this memorable occasion of the 60th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic ties, Yisonglou presented a specially crafted dish as a gesture of sincerity from Mutianyu. Mr. Éric Alauzet highly praised the dish.
One side of the plate featured an enticing steak, representing the romance and refinement of French cuisine; the other side showcased delicious shrimp, embodying the profound wisdom of Chinese food culture. Positioned between the steak and shrimp was a decorative piece of the Great Wall, symbolically bridging France and China, highlighting their collaboration across vast distances in the long river of history and culture. This dish was not only a culinary delight but also a symbol of friendly relations between France and China, with each bite reflecting a tribute to the 60 years of friendly diplomatic relations and a hope for further enhancing bilateral ties in the future.
After the meal, Mr. Éric Alauzet and his delegation took the newly upgraded enclosed cable car to reach the Great Wall. They were deeply impressed by the magnificent Great Wall, winding among the towering mountains. They listened attentively to the guide's explanations while taking photos for souvenirs.
Mr. Éric Alauzet expressed heartfelt admiration for the grandeur of the Great Wall. Impressively, he personally climbed to the Hero's Slope at Watchtower No.20, demonstrating his perseverance and keen interest in Chinese history and culture. Mutianyu Great Wall warmly welcomed Chairman Alauzet and presented him with a exquisite album of the Great Wall as a gift.
