On the morning of July 22nd, the world champion gold medalists of Guobaorou (Double Cooked Pork Slices, a famous Northeastern Chinese dish) and contestants gathered at Mutianyu Great Wall. They cooked special Guobaorou on site, and invited tourists to taste it for free.
This tasting event at Mutianyu Great Wall was jointly organized by Mutianyu Great Wall Scenic Area and Jilin City Bureau of Commerce. The event kicked off with song and dance performance. The culinary master, Li Shicong, with his rich cooking experience and superb cooking skills, made a special Guobaorou on site - the twelve zodiac Guobaorou, which includes 12 flavors such as durian, mango, Thai-style, cumin, and so on. This innovative cook had a complete color, fragrance, and taste, and was favored by the tourists on site.
"I happened to come to visit Mutianyu Great Wall today and coincidentally encountered Guobaorou made by gold medal chefs on the Great Wall. I'm so lucky! Look at the golden color! I couldn't help but drool. It's really tempting," said Ms. Liu, a tourist.
The gold medal chefs took turns showcasing their special skills in making Guobaorou, attracting both adults and children to line up eagerly, looking forward to tasting the fresh Guobaorou. Visitors enjoyed the singing and dancing performances while savoring the delicious and sweet Guobaorou. Occasionally, they would look out into the distance at the majestic mountains and marvel at the grandeur of the Great Wall.
